Pechey practised medicine in Leeds, involving herself in women’s health education and lecturing on a number of medical topics, including nursing.\nThe General Medical Council appointed Professor Sue Carr in April 2019 as its first deputy medical director, a newly-created post to help shape future education and training for doctors. She was director of medical education and associate medical director at the University Hospitals of Leicester. She has worked as a consultant nephrologist in Leicester since 1995. After completing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Education in 2005, she was elected to the Royal College of Physicians Council in 2017.\n\n\n
