London, 20 June 2025 – The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) plans to DNA test every newborn baby in England as part of a 10-year strategy to predict and prevent disease before symptoms appear. Backed by £650 million in funding, the program will use full genome sequencing to identify risks for hundreds of conditions, aiming to revolutionize early diagnosis and ease long-term pressure on health services.
